How to pass your HGV theory test

Theory puts a lot of people off. If school tests went badly, a computer exam can feel like a trap. It is not a book exam. It is multiple choice, hazard clips, and practice.

What the theory covers

You sit it at an official centre. You answer questions on a screen. There is also a hazard perception part. You do not write essays.

• Use a phone app on your break. Ten minutes a day beats a panic cram.
• Repeat the same mock questions until they feel boring. Boring is good.
• Do not only read. Tap answers. Your hands remember faster than your pride.

If you fail

You can book another go. Plenty of people do. It is not a verdict on whether you can drive a lorry. The cab test is a different skill.
