From warehouse to HGV driver

A lot of our calls start the same way. “I am on nights in a warehouse and the money is not moving.” Or the shop hours are a mess. Or van work is all day and still low pay.

An HGV licence is one of the few skills you can learn without going back to college.

What you already have

If you drive a car, you have the base. If you already do early starts, you can handle a yard. If you can back a van into a bay, you can learn a bigger vehicle.

You do not need A levels.

What changes

You will spend time on theory. You will sit in a cab with an instructor who will correct you. That can feel raw if you are used to being left alone on a shift. It is normal.

Then the work itself: more responsibility, often better pay, sometimes longer days. Ask about the hours before you fall in love with the wage.

Money while you train

Most people keep the job they have and train around it. That is why we talk evenings, weekends, and flexible finance. We do not tell you to quit on week one.
